STRUCTURE AND CONTENTS OF THE ABSTRACT

Abstracts must be submitted only via the Online Abstract Submission Form within the deadline; no Abstracts submission by email will be accepted, and submission deadline extension will be granted.

  • The Abstract must be written in English.
  • The Abstract should be preferably original, not previously published, or presented.
  • The text of the Abstract should be Min 3500 – Max 4500 characters spaces included. 
  • The Abstract can include max 2 tables/figures in landscape format, black/white printed: avoid using colors both in images and in descriptions. 
  • The Abstract must report a maximum of 8 (eight) Authors in appropriate order.
  • Every Abstract presenting promotional or commercial messages will be rejected.
  • The Scientific Committee will NOT correct language, typing, spelling, or grammatical mistakes.

SPECIFIC GUIDELINES FOR THE CONTEST BEST CASE REPORT

The Contest “Best Case Report” is an opportunity to share the experience learned from one of your patients from trauma to return to play.

  • Prefer to describe the Case Report through Narrative Medicine, adding the relational and psychological dimensions that occur in tandem with physical illness; the Scientific Committee is not interested just in the clinical side of the story but also in human aspects.
  • A score will be assigned to each abstract based on the following criteria: narrative medicine reporting style, relevance to the Conference topic, experiences from other sports to be shared, objective measurements for decision-making, integrates athlete’s voice, clear flow of information.
  • The Speaker in the Contest Best Case Report should be the First Author.
  • The fourteen (14) abstracts with the highest score will be presented in the Best Case Report Finals during the Conference.
  • The Abstracts not included in the finalists will be moved to an Oral/Podium Sessions “Case reports”.

EVALUATION PROCESS

The Abstract must meet all the submissions criteria (word limit, titles, Authors etc.…) and include original data relevant to the Conference Topic.

A score will be assigned to each Abstract based on the following criteria:
• Is the problem clearly stated?
• Are the statistics sound?
• Are there adequate numbers of subjects?
• How is the methodology?
• Is the abstract clear / well written and are the results clear?
• Are the conclusions supported by the results?

The Judges will evaluate the finalists of each category with a set of criteria, including the Speaker performance. The score of the abstract added to the score of the presentation will determine the final ranking for the 2026 Awards.

NEXT GENERATION LEADERS SESSIONS
Beyond the 2026 Awards, the best submitted Abstracts will be selected for the Next Generation Leaders Sessions, which will be held in one of the main scientific rooms of the Conference. A globally renowned Keynote Speaker will open each session. The topics usually are: Foot and Ankle injury, ACL, Football Rehabilitation, Hamstrings, Football Prevention and Biomechanics, Hip and Groin Pain, Football Reconditioning.

CEREMONY
The Conference Awards Ceremony will be held on Sunday 19th April 2026 from 16:30 – 17:00
All the Speakers of the Free Communications are required to be present during the Ceremony: in case of victory, the absence determines the transfer of the prize to the next one in the ranking.

PRESENTATION FORMAT

The Speaker can be one of the Authors (except for the Contest “Best Case Report” where the Speaker must be the First Author).
A Speaker can present a maximum of two (2) abstracts.

ORAL PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Speaking time: 8 minutes plus 2 minutes for discussion
  • Speaker’s presentations details:
    • The Slides should be in English, in Power Point template – 16:9 size.
    • Speakers must deliver their PPT presentation on a USB stick to the Slide Center at least 3 hours before the presentation.
    • It is forbidden to use a personal laptop or notebook for presentations
    • In the case of videos in the PPT presentation, ensure they run in the most used video formats
    • For Keynote, presentation must be converted into PPT for PC Windows format
  • Speakers must speak fluent English and answer questions from the audience
  • Presentations cannot include any promotional commercial messages

 

POSTER PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • The Author must bring the poster printed in portrait format: size 80cm in width, 120cm in height.
  • The Poster should be written in English.
  • The Speaker must present the content of the poster in a 5-minute speech in fluent English.
  • Posters cannot include any promotional commercial messages

AUTHORS TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Submission mode: Authors may indicate their presentation preference during the submission (Oral/Podium or Poster presentation), but the Scientific Committee reserves the right to define the final presentation mode: no Oral/Podium presentations will be guaranteed to any Author.
  • Submission Topic: Authors may indicate their topic preference during the submission, however the Scientific Committee reserves the right to define the final session depending on the final structure of the Scientific Programme.
  • An Author may submit a maximum of three (3) abstracts as First Author. It is possible to appear as co-Author in other Abstracts.
    All Authors confirm that they have given the protection of intellectual property associated with this work and there are no impediments to publication in the Abstract Book of the Conference.
  • All Authors are aware that the failure to comply with the guidelines may result in rejection of the abstract

SPEAKERS TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • The Speaker understood and agreed that the registration at the Conference is mandatory: the deadline to register is the 28th January 2026.
  • The Speaker commits himself to attend in person. In case of unforeseeable circumstances preventing the Speaker from attending the Conference, a Speaker’s substitute must be communicated up to the 30th March 2026. In case of absence without a substitute, the registration fee will not be refunded.
  • The Speaker commits himself to attend the whole period of the conference (from Saturday 18th to Monday 20th April 2026) – no presentation will be moved if the speaker has booked to return before the end of the conference.
  • The Speaker that needs to apply for a VISA must ensure obtaining it no later than 28th of January 2026: this is compulsory to be included in Official Scientific Programme.
